One-week short term training program
January 19th - 23rd, 2019
Government College of Engineering,
- PG students/Research Scholars: Rs. 2000/-
- Academician: Rs. 3000/-
Modern power systems have grown larger and spaced over larger geographical area with many interconnections between neighboring systems. A sea change has occurred in the energy and power sector. The transmission voltages have reached to Ultra High Voltage level. The understanding of Transient phenomenon is extremely important as during these transients the system is subjected to the greatest stress from the excessive over currents or over voltages that can cause extensive damage to system.
The analysis and simulation of electromagnetic transients has become a fundamental methodology for understanding the performance of power systems, determining power component ratings, explaining equipment failures or testing protection devices.
EMTP is the most technically advanced transient analysis software tool used by Power System Engineers for the simulation & analysis of electromagnetic, electromechanical control systems transients in multiphase Electric Power System. Hands-on sessions will be conducted on the use of the software for demonstrating the practical problem cases.
Subject experts from reputed institute and industry included Boopathi V P.
Since 2014, Boopathi is an EMTP Senior Support Engineer at Powersys and in parallel he is pursuing his PhD at the Anna University. From 2011 to 2013, he worked as a Project Associate at the Anna University in Chennai where he developped an algorithm to assess energy consumption of unmetered (Hut & Agricultural) services and distribution losses TANGEDCO grid in Tamil Nadu state.
Faculty members of Electrical Engineering from various AICTE approved Engineering Colleges/Polytechnics can apply.
Working professionals and practicing engineers from various Research Organizations & Industries, Post Graduate students and Research Scholars can also apply.
The duration is 5 days.
The training starts at 8:30 am and ends at 5:00 pm every day.
