Ivo Uglesic is a full professor since 2007. at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of Zagreb University, Croatia.

His research interests include high voltage engineering, insulation coordination, electromagnetic transients, electromagnetic compatibility and electric railways.

He the author of over than 120 scientific papers in journals and at international and national conferences, and was the project leader of more than 50 studies and technical solutions made for the needs of power utilities, electric railways and industry.

He is presently the Croatian representative of the CIGRE study committee C4 (System Technical Performance). For the contribution to the work of the committee he received two awards in 2012:  Distinguish Member and the CIGRE Technical Committee Award.

He was the Chair of the International Conference on Power Systems Transients in 2015.

He was the guest editor of special editions of the journal Electric Power System Research in 2014 and 2016.
He is the member of the advisory editorial board of the International Journal of Electric Power & Energy Systems.
