The objective of the training is to present a technical hands-on on HVDC-VSC systems. It is organized in collaboration with RTE. The training covers different topics: introduction to VSC-MMC technology, modeling and simulation of HVDC-VSC systems with EMTP, control and protection of VSC-MMC stations, specifications of HVDC-VSC projects and maintenance of HVDC converters.

Simulation of power system transients with EMTP

The course will be presented in English using the EMTP software Version 4. The participants can use computers to follow presentations and to perform various exercises. Temporary software licences will be provided to all participants.

Although the course is based on performing simulations with EMTP, the presentations are on real-world problems on power system transients.
